The Ultimate Checklist for Taking Care of Your Skin

 

When it comes to skincare, there are a few cardinal rules - things we should always do to make sure our complexion stays healthy and young and things we should never do that can cause damage to the skin. With so many new trends and ingredients, it can be tough to keep track of what’s what, so the team at LING Skincare has come up with a few of the most important things to remember when taking care of your skin.   1. Get monthly facials to receive the maximum benefit from your skincare products and to promote cell turnover

  2. Use sunscreen every day even when you’re not in the sun. Sunscreen protects the skin from harmful UVA/UVB and will prevent skin cancer, sun spots, wrinkles, and dryness.

  3. Use a hydrating toner to prevent skin dehydration. Moisturizer doesn’t hydrate the skin, it protects it. Using hydrating toner will deliver water to the skin, a must to keep your complexion looking young and bright.

  4. Make masks a part of your weekly winter skin routine and when you travel. Harsh weather and climate changes can be very drying and will accelerate aging process. A humidifier helps a lot too!

  5. Wash your makeup applicators as they can be a breeding ground for bacteria and will harbor oils and dead skin cells that can be irritating for your skin. The same goes for your pillowcases!

  6. Drink lots of water and eat healthy. No matter how much you spend on beauty products, your skin will never look as glowing and radiant as it does when you’re taking care of yourself from the inside out!

 

NEVER NEVER NEVER...

  1. Go to sleep with your makeup on. It clogs your pores and stains your skin!

  2. Sunbathe. There are lots of ways to get a lovely glow without subjecting your skin to those damaging rays.

  3. Pick at your skin. A pimple popping session gone wrong could end up leaving permanent marks or scars. Let the professionals handle the problem.

  4. Over exfoliate as a way to try and combat acne or blackheads. An over-aggressive scrub can lead to dryness, dehydration, sensitivity, redness, open pores, and breakouts.

  5. Use retinol, glycolic, or salicylic acid products during the day time. These acids make your skin much more sensitive to the sun.

  6. Try to get rid of all the oil in your skin by using blotting papers or excessively washing it. Healthy skin means maintaining a balance of water and oil, and the oil helps to protect your skin and keep wrinkles at bay.
